The hottest book making the rounds at our company
Our senior management can't get their hands on this book fast enough. If you're going to be in business five years from now, you have to make it your business today to read "Dead Ahead".

An insightful and well-written book on e-business strategy
I was drawn to this book after searching for ways to help my business survive the ever-changing Internet economy. Ms. Windham's book offers incredibly helpful advice and is full of examples on how to stay ahead of the competition. This was one of those books that was difficult to put down. A must read for anyone who wants to transform their company into a profitable e-business.

Excellent book. Easy to read and informative
This was used as a text book in my e-business MBA class and would recommend it to others outside of class. It covered a lot of issues relevant to the topic. I enjoy reading books like this that are up-to-date in a dynamic industry.

13 Alabama Ghosts and Jeffrey
Published in Paperback by Univ. of Alabama Press (October, 1987)
Authors: Kathryn Tucker Windham, Margaret Gillis Figh, and Delores E. Atkins

Kudos to Kathryn Tucker Wyndham
These books were a delightful part of my childhood, I grew up in southeast Alabama and visited many of the haunted sights (the hole that wouldn't stay filled, the grave of the dancing ghost, Huntington College, et al). I recall attending a "storytelling" by Mrs. Wyndham in the 1970's, never was it more fun to be so scared!!!

Kathryn Tucker Wyndham - A State Treasure
From time to time, someone appears in our lives who holds a special place in the culture of Alabama. Those of my generation have been blessed to have Kathryn Tucker Wyndham, a great Lady of the first order, and a true state treasure. It is perhaps fitting that one finds it near impossible to place Mrs. Wyndham in a niche. She is a historian, to be sure, but she is more than that, as is evidenced by "13 Alabama Ghosts And Jeffrey", as well as her numerous other works. Long popular in Alabama, "13 Alabama Ghosts" can be enjoyed by a broad spectrum of readers, both within and without Alabama. Her skills as a writer are equally matched by her rare talent as a raconteur. Mrs. Wyndham is one of the very few authors who makes herself so accessible to the public that she literally emobodies the written works she has produced. Anyone who has ever attended the annual "Pilgrimage" in Selma can attest to Mrs. Wyndham's abilities to hold an audience in rapt attention to her tales of ghosts and such. This book is a must for those interested in a taste of a unique slice of Alabama culture, by the foremost practioner of the art. Mrs. Wyndham has produced a delightful book, one which is a significant contribution to the body of works of Alabama history. Accordingly, this reviewer highly recommends this book - as well as all of Mrs. Wyndham's books - for readers of all ages and interests.

Long Lasting Impression
I first read 13 Alabama Ghosts as a elementary school student in Alabama. In the twenty years since then, I have re-read it numerous times. The stories stay with you and provide an interesting and alternative look at Alabama's history. Since the stories involve local ghosts or haunted places, it is possible to visit these locations yourself, which makes the book all the more interesting. I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in ghosts and Alabama history.

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones Movie Scrapbook

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones Movie Scrapbook
The Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones Movie Scrapbook is a fascinating book containing the entire plot of the film, accompanied with a series of great photos taken from the film. The written story centres around some of the interesting aspects that weren't fully explored in the film. This is one of my favourite Star Wars books, and one can only wonder just how awesome Episode III will be!

Very enjoyable
This book contains behind-the-scenes information about the characters and actors in "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones." It also includes some thoughts by "Star Wars" creator George Lucas. This pictures are beautiful, high resolution, and in color. My favorite part of this book is the description of "Kamino," the watery planet, and the profile given of the "cloners" who inhabit it.

This book would be a lot of fun for the Star Wars fan.

Great Book!!!
This scrapbook is so cool! It has so many things and to ME this and the Visual Dictionaries are some of the best Star Wars books you can get! Cool picture and reading and everything! Just perfect!

Unicorns! Unicorns!
Published in Paperback by The Watts Publishing Group (23 September, 1999)
Authors: Geraldine McCaughrean and Sophie Windham
Average review score:

A must have!
This book is a beatiful story related to Noah's Ark. The illustrations alone are worth the venture. Smaller children will need some of the text explained, however school-age children will delight in the mystical magic of unicorns and the reason behind their disappearance. Great idea for a gift.

Wonderful!!
This book was absolutely magnificent. Many people tell the story about Noah's Ark in a different way saying the unicorns would not listen when he called them and stayed playing. That story bothered me because unicorns would not do something silly like that. In this story, they started heading over but had to help the turtles who were too slow, the butterfly who stopped to admire her beauty in the water, and the monkeys who stayed playing and wouldn't listen when they were called. This was a wonderful book and I highly reccomend it to anyone who loves unicorns!

Unicorns, Unicorns
A magnificent, moving tale of the haunting legend, and ultimate fate, of the magical unicorns. The story is dramatically written and touching. My daughter and I read the story for the first time this Fall on a moonlit beach, which lent to the enchantment of the story. As the tale ensues, we found ourselves wanting to shout with Noah: "Unicorns, Unicorns!" The ending is achingly bittersweet, yet easier on the young ones than most tellings of this age-old tale, (especially those who still believe that they will someday see a Unicorn), and leaves you with a magical sense of wonder about what may truly lie within the frothy waves crashing onto the shore. Sophie Windham's watercolor illustrations are wonderful, and beautifully portrayed the magical world of the beloved Unicorn! Truly a tale to be shared young and old alike! Unforgettable! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Classic scary reading
I have been reading and re-reading Ms. Windham's books since I was a child, beginning with 13 Mississippi Ghosts and Jeffrey. That one was fabulous and this one is just as scary. A word of caution - do not read any of the stories right before you go to bed, or be sure to leave a light on if you do! Being a ghost story "purist", as in I tend to only really enjoy those based on eyewitness or earwitness accounts, the stories included in this volume rate right at the top!

Bridal Wreath Bush
Published in Hardcover by Elliott & Clark Pub (September, 1999)
Authors: John Solomon Sandridge and Kathryn Tucker Windham
Average review score:

Windham's story is as powerful and touching as it is simple
"The Bridal Wreath Bush," the new book from Alabama's preeminent storyteller Kathryn Tucker Windham, is a testament to the powers of simplicity and of truth. It is only a 32-page book, and this included beautiful illustratrations by Gadsden artist John Solomon Sandridge. Although this may give it the look of a children's book, its story is as adult as it is powerful. More than 70 years ago, Windham says her father told her the story of why the family had a bridal wreath bush in its garden. It is a story of love, tragedy, closure and healing, involving a black farmer and former slave named Hiram, who asked Windham's banker father for a $25 loan. The loan was so the farmer could search for the wife he was separated from almost half a century before when his owner lost him in a poker game. This book shows us why Windham is one of the most renowned storytellers in the country. Like a champion swimmer, her literary strokes are simple and efficient rather than exagerated, and because of it, her narrative moves the story forward with all the more power. Nurtured by Windham's skill, "The Bridal Wreath Bush" blossoms into a creation of dazzling beauty. As our attention turns toward a new millennium, we can only be thankful that stories such as this one are being saved for those who will live it.

The Soul of the New Consumer : The Attitudes, Behavior, and Preferences of E-Customers
Published in Hardcover by Allworth Press (01 September, 2000)
Authors: Laurie Windham and Ken Orton
Average review score:

A must read for those involved in e-business
This book is based on a great deal of research about consumer attitudes and preferences on the web. Everything is up to date which is a feat in and of itself in the fast moving pace of today's e-business world. Non technical, it is easy to understand and grasp the concepts that are presented. I would recommend reading this book as a first step if you or your company want to start an ebusiness. It helps you to understand how your potential customers behave on the web and what their expectations are. This book is a must read for those wanting to sustain online relationships.

The Soul of the New Consumer
A must read book for all people in business. The Soul of the New Consumer gives valuable insight into today's consumers and how to capture new opportunities in the e-commerce business. I highly recommend this to all forward thinking companies and individuals.

E-business, E-marketing, and E-promotions managers, read it!
So maybe you've been thrust into the new E-whatever position in your company. You feel like a deer in the headlights when the E-consultants and E-agencies come in, start foaming at the mouth and spewing E-jargon. You wonder, what the heck are they talking about and what should I do? Get an agency that speaks English and read this book during the transition!

Laurie and Ken have compiled an impressive amount of quantitative and qualitative research on which to base "The Soul of The New Consumer". Far and away the most important statement to remember in this book is:

"In effect, the Web site experience becomes the primary vehicle for building and reinforcing brand identity and preferences."

Information architecture (the structure of a web site), Internet marketing and Internet branding converge in the mind of the consumer. They should be developed in tandem. The web site experience IS the brand experience; think about it, think about your own web usage experiences.

"The Soul Of The New Consumer" goes on to discuss issues of great concern to many web users. These include privacy, the (non?) existence of customer loyalty, traffic generation, conversion strategies, and perspectives of E-customers. The quantitative research in the book can be found anywhere, the analysis makes the book valuable and the moderated discussions with consumers add a touch of real world insight that is missing from many books.

Now that you've read this book, and have a new agency that speaks English, you'll have a better idea of how to communicate with them. You'll know more of the right questions to ask; the answers to look for and maybe even understand a little of the E-jargon should the conversation digress to that level. You might even feel comfortable enough to make up some of your own!
